Lion's head - 35

Descending along the mooring buoy chain , keeping the cliff face on our right, we start by exploring among the rocks resting on the sea bottom, and encounter first of all numerous yellow sea fans (Eunicelle) and then false coral (Myriapora truncata), red coral (Corallium rubrum), red sea-fans (Paramuricea clavata) and sponges. It's easy to come across large groupers in the summer. In the many ravines we find morays, congers, spiny lobsters, and squat lobsters . After the deepest point, characterised by two vertical cracks, you come upon a low roof below which you can light up some martens. From this point you start to head back, ascending, admiring shoals of damselfish, large dentex and white sea bream. Going onwards we recommend looking closely into the cracks in the rock, where one can see morays, groupers, scorpion fish and octopus.
